Trying to compare dish network and directv, the two leading satellite television providers in the United States, is not a straight forward thing to do as both companies are actually quite similar.  Both have had numerous promotions come out in recent years, both are offering incredible satellite package deals and both have a high level of customer service.  Even the pricing of the most basic television package is very close with only a $5 per month difference between the two companies.  Really the choice between the two is going to depend on what additional features the user wants such as HD programming, DVR features, additional languages or add on channels where a few differences can be seen between the providers on a comparison chart.
